All Creation Starts With Desire

<menu>What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them.</menu>
JESUS in St. Mark 11:24

DESIRE
ASK
BELIEVE
RECEIVE
Prayer is some form of saying "Let There Be!" Stella Mann believed that every prayer is answered when it is made and lived up to, according to the laws under which the power of prayer works.
Any time we say "Let There Be" on any level, in any way, something will happen. It's as if there is something in us, all around us which detects our every thought, word, deed, belief, fear, desire and command and does something about it.
We really need to be aware of the power of our words. After all, in the beginning, in Genesis it reads "And God said..."

Circle of Prayer Part 1: DESIRE

Everyone Has a Dream

The word dream as used in Mrs. Mann's book depicts a deep desire to do, or be, or acquire something of considerable importance to the holder of the dream.
It isn't the same as wishful thinking or idle day dreaming we unconsciously spend time doing. If your dream is to have a successful business then it would naturally involve lots of small desires that would be worked toward daily or even changed moment to moment as you work toward your goal and final objective.

A dream as we here mean it calls for work with a purpose and a definite plan to achieve our stated and understood purpose.

In this book, Mann writes there are only four basic rules we must follow:<menu>
1. Love our dream

2. Have faith in our dream

3. Have faith in ourselves, our ability to make it come true and

4. Have a plan of procedure for putting our dream to work.

Perhaps the biggest problem of all is to create a plan of procedure that will work to fulfill our dreams

But most importantly, you must develop faith in your dream and believe and decide that it is a good idea and is truly worth doing; that it expresses your creative passions and that it will be a blessing to others.

You need a plan that implies that you mean business and that we are going to start working, never stopping until we reach success. We must be open and flexible in entertaining and making variations in the plan on almost a daily basis and remind ourselves often-- the only way to fail is to quit.

As we explore this book "How to Live in the Circle of Prayer" we will learn to follow the twelve steps that begin with Desire.

But first we must learn "why we can and should have faith in our dream". After all, where did our dream come from? From the Spirit of God within us.
God had a purpose when he created and set in motion this Universe and each of us is born with dreams, ambitions and urges that come from a Higher Calling.
We've been given the tools required for dreaming but it is up to us to answer the call and actually dare to dream...
<menu>big dreams, little dreams...all are from God...in order that he may work at them and learn...
God wins more than you
When you make your dreams come true.

</menu>

How to Make Your Dreams Come True

Today I will start a series titled "How to Make Your Dreams Come True". It will be a daily brief synopsis of the book by Stella Terrill Mann, "How to Live in the Circle of Prayer, and Make Your Dreams Come True..."

A quote from Stella's book sums up the basic premise<menu>"...our dreams are from God and that, therefore, we ought to try to make them come true. The way to do this is to consciously work with God. This means prayer. But prayer is not begging. It is a scientific way of working with the Creative Spirit in man. For prayer is a spiritual power and like all power is law locked."</menu>

There are 12 parts of prayer and they create a circle of prayer. Over the next two weeks we will explore Mrs. Mann's twelve parts of prayer as I seek to comprehend more fully what she refers to as a "circle of spiritual power."

In a message to her readers, Stella Mann writes "keep your mind open and let the blessing you need from it flow into your very self, and become a part of your life forever."
And to this I add "Amen" for this is my prayer for as well.
Lisa S. Boyd

Tomorrow I will summarize chapter 1, There Is a Dream in Every Man's Heart. And I do believe there is though many times we lose touch with our dreams either through others scoffing and scorn or our own experience with disappointment. Still, I believe God has a special purpose for each of us, a special calling, a special contribution that can only come through the unique human being or spirit in which each of us "exists".

<menu>No matter what his tongue may tell

Man's goal will always be

To seek without, to seek within,

To touch Infinity.
Helen Molyneaux Salisbury
from How to Live in the Circle of Prayer by Stella Terrill Mann

The Girl Staring Out the Window

Ever find yourself running around like a chicken with its head cut off?

I think I have lived most of my life like this.
In the beginning it was due to tragedy. My world felt destroyed at nine years old when my Dad died. Other events took place and within a few years time, I became preoccupied with sadness and depression. I felt alone and hopeless, flawed somehow.
I lost almost all confidence in myself.
Then I seemed to check out for a while. I remember once coming out of a trance-like stare to find my high school English teacher standing in front of my desk. I don't know how long she had been there, speaking my name loudly to get my attention.

I had a reputation for being the girl "staring out the window" so to speak.

As I grew older I felt like I was waking up more and more. I felt aware of my surroundings and more in touch with reality. I learned time management skills and read books on organization. I read one self-help book after another. I went to years of counseling. I finished degrees and took extra classes. I ran around trying to keep up with my to-do list, be "super mom" and have worked to salvage a wounded career.
I looked for love but either pushed it away or mine was rejected. I expended a lot of energy becoming an over-achiever and a people-pleaser. And eventually, for some reason not even I really understand, I wrote a book.
A book about lifelong dreams; about dreaming and creating the life of those dreams.
Not even I know for sure if this can be done. But I do know this; I can dream about it!
Guess I'm still the girl staring out the window.

Only now, I do it on purpose...

Quote of the Blog

<menu>
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.</menu>
--T. E. Lawrence

A Christian Prayer

Today I would like to share my sister Jan's prayer. It's really beautiful and powerful!
"Father God, You are standing with me as my partner in my kingdom-(workplace, home, car, etc).
Everything that is done in my life, we do together. You are here with me at this very moment to strengthen me.

I wait for You, Lord, and I gain new strength. (praying in the Spirit is a power tool for "waiting" on the Lord)
You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning (my very life);

My God, You turn my darkness- which is stress, anxiety, fear, weakness, etc.... into Light.

With Your help I can advance against a troop; with You, my Lord God, I can scale a wall!"

So, what is my sister's Joy and Strength? She writes:<menu>
Walking in Your Truth, so aware of where I have been that I cleave to You, Lord Jesus, like a sash around Your beautiful, priestly robe.

 HALLELUJAH!!!
</menu>by Janice "Celeste" Hunt

Dreading the Day that Lies Ahead...

Quote of the Blog

Today seems like one of those days when breathing takes a tremendous effort. I think I am afraid of life. MY Life. It doesn't feel worth living and yet I KNOW that if I choose to love myself, give thanks to my Creator and go about doing the good things I really want to accomplish, it will eventually become worth it all. It's a "hurry up and wait upon the Lord" kind of day. (remember the old Petra song?)
So here I go...one foot in front of the other and eventually I'll be in motion.
<menu>Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.</menu>
- William James

A Day in the Life

"Taking all thoughts captive..." is part of a verse from the New Testament which comes to mind today. More than ever I realize the power of my mind in determining my feelings and behaviors. And more than ever I am frustrated with my inability to be consistently positive focused on faith and not fear.
I know it is the only way. I know that happiness is a choice that I make this moment and every moment. I can choose to be miserable or I can choose to be happy. And happiness comes mostly from being only in this moment and being grateful for what I find in the here and now. RIGHT now without thinking about the past or the future. And it's easier said than done.
For me it requires deep breathing and a choice to let everything go and trust my Higher Power.

A New Chapter Begins...

Today is the beginning of a new journey for me. I begin Dr. Simeons protocol for losing weight. I am going to blog about my experience and weight loss losing what has been called "The Weight Loss Cure".

I am using the sublingual HCG method which is part of the protocol. I hold the mixture under my tongue for 10 minutes or more and wait 20 minutes before eating or drinking anything, especially coffee.
I will be sharing tips from the book by Kevin Trudeau as I go along.

Quote of the Blog

One of the causes of obesity was eating infrequently and having extremely large meals. The human body's digestive system is designed to eat smaller meals every few hours...to handle food that is raw or unrefined...not suited to gorging followed by long periods of time without food.
Thus skipping breakfast, eating a light lunch, and a huge dinner places a great unnatural burden on the digestive system and intestinal tract...we eat large meals which contain more food than the body requires at the moment in order to tide us over until the next meal...
food produced to be easily digestible, is highly refined and floods the body with nourishment and calories for which it has no immediate need and cannot physically handle....the body must store this surplus somehow...creating fat deposits...experts agree that eating breakfast, a snack mid-morning, lunch, a snack mid-0afternoon, dinner and a snack in the evening is one of the healthiest, best long-term approaches for weight management and better health.

--from Trudeau's The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You to Know About"

What's Holding Me Back?

Many times we are held back by a sense that we are simply not good enough, talented enough or smart enough to do what we want to do. We pray for God to free us from the internal chains that bind us. Self-confidence stems from confidence in Him (a belief in something greater than ourselves).
It is not we alone who do the work. The work is done by Him (the Divine Spirit) who is within us.

--Marianne Williamson in <em?Illuminata

Why Use a Bucket List Anyway?

Well here's another good reason to buy My Dream Book: Journal to Discover Your Destiny at Tate Publishing.com

Create A Bucket List!!

Oh why bother you may think, like I have time to mess with that. Well I was thinking today about the things I never get around to doing like cleaning out the closets, the junk drawer OR organizing my photos.
Of course when I run across them I think "oh I need to do this..." but the time never seems to come. "Why?" I ask myself.
Of course because I don't have it written down and I don't have it scheduled.
Now something like my junk drawer? I can put it on my calendar for a Saturday to-do list or my yearly goal sheet (of course you have one, right?).
But my photos? Wow, now that's huge.
Having a really organized photo system by year that's really easy to use, and "cool", is one of my dreams.
So not only do I need to use my yearly calendar and mark a weekend or evening to work on it, I need to put it on my bucket list and break the task down into objectives or steps.
<menu> Step 1: Choose a system that will last for years and that the style will be ageless, not "trendy"
2: Create a plan broken down into steps that begin with something like "go through green trunk and collect photos smaller. Put into boxes or bags according to size"</menu> Then you'll add step three and so forth and so on. Get the idea?
So even if you don't buy my book, haha start a list today of dreams you have that you may have never taken seriously and written down.
Writing down your dreams is the first step...

Quote of the Blog

<menu>Motivational speaker Zig Ziglar recommends you "invest ten minutes a day in reviewing your goals and ambitions. Think about what you want and how far you (will go) have gone to reach it...by doing this, your mind will start to focus on transforming them into a strategy and then, through action, into reality."
from My Dream Book: Journal to Discover Your Destiny

The Power of Reading

<menu>The brains response to the written word can be seen in scans using technology called Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), that illuminate in bright lights and colors the increased flow of blood through synapses of the brain as we read.
by Alan Rinzler</menu>Cool huh?

Quote of the Blog

I Would Love to Blog Today

I would love to blog but I'm so busy reading about web design.
See I've decided to take it to a new level. I've thought about hiring a designer to take the site from here...but I finally owned something;

I like designing web pages.

So blog I will but design I will also (said in a Yoda voice).
So a self-taught designer I will become I suppose.
At least for a while and then who knows. Maybe I'll hire someone to take it from there...

Excerpt from My Dream Book: An Inspirational Story

Inspiration For The Retirement Years

After 36 years of teaching at Texas A&M and
a very successful career in his preferred field of interest,
my daughters grandfather, Papa, alongside his lovely wife, retired and moved their residence out of state. When looking
for someone to inspire my retirement dreams, I did not have to look far. This couple have been and continue to be a source of inspiration for those who know them.

Making The Big Move

Partly due to health reasons and partially to follow a dream, they decided to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico. After so
many years of living in the same community and with deep
roots, they dared displace themselves. Making such an enormous change upon retirement and leaving their deep friendships and
community involvement must have been challenging. Yet since
they felt drawn there and as they began to discover the beauty and rich cultural background offered, they began to reap more than just physical benefits.

Leaving It All Behind

Leaving so many connections behind and the familiarities of a well-established home could lead to feelings of disillusionment. They chose to brave those challenges by pursuing their passions, interests and new friendships. Through efforts to establish church membership, community involvement, continued professional interests and travel, they created what appears to be the life of their dreams. Joining breakfast groups and working the voting polls, they support their political beliefs through various means., Taking tours like the Smithsonian Tour of the Spoleto Festival and singing with the University Chorus are just a few of their retirement activities. Becoming involved with organizations like the Albuquerque Museum Foundation, they are always in the know about available, interesting exhibits. Working with programs like University Showcase, at a local radio station, keeps Papa informed and connected as well as utilizes his talents and expertise.
The Lifestyle

In addition to these activities, they are health conscious
and incorporate both a healthy diet and exercise into their lifestyle. They have maintained strong family connections through emails, letters, birthday and holiday celebrations,
and phone calls. Even though they live out of state, they are
visited often by friends and family. Because of their awareness of their city and state, we have experienced some wonderful sighting-seeing when we visited. Whether it was hiking on Sandia or visiting the ancient home of the cliff dwellers, they were never lacking for recreational ideas.
Their Secret

Certainly one of their secrets to a winning retirement was
being financially prepared. Another key to their success has been their continued interest in learning. Whether they were at home or abroad with a local tour group, they found educational opportunities like attending lectures while traveling. When I think about this couple in retirement, I am truly inspired to lead a fuller more rewarding lifestyle both now and in the future and I imagine my retirement to be very much like theirs.

Decision: the year 2010

What do most of us need?

Change. REAL change.

Where does one start...

I ought... I can... I will...

Think about the things you ought to do. Think about what you can do about it and decide that you will.
It's really that simple. Believe it or not as Ripley says.

KEEP THE BIG DECISION IN MIND

Keep it in mind every day, every hour, every moment, at the back of your mind.

Make choices in line with your final objective. Your final objective will line up with your big decision.

Quote of the Blog

<menu>If faith in our dream is strong enough, we will have enough faith in ourselves to carry it through to conclusion (and in the Divine Being some of us call God). </menu>
--Stella Terrill Mann

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

To Be Human

To be human is a humiliating experience.<p<> There's still so much about myself that I don't understand. There's so much that frustrates me about myself.
How can I just accept and love "me" the way I am when I see so many imperfections, so many "issues".
Yet I know that there is so much to be gained by accepting myself and seeing me just the way I am with all my imperfections and without making judgments, just accept. Then seek change.
When I feel like this, I look for answers, for clarity, for God.
Here are some excerpts from My Dream Book:
Your true source of wealth consists of the ideas in your mind. You can have an idea worth millions of dollars. Your subconscious
will give you the idea you seek.

Dr. Joseph Murphy

When you open up to the potential of having what you want,
you allow wonderful people and events to appear in your life.

Marcia Wieder

I take me wherever I go. If I dont change, I will be who I have
been.

Kurt-Edouard Neubauer

To start the day with a conscious decision to be grateful, kind,
gentle and patient with others helps to still the mind of my ego. When you spend just one moment putting the interests of another soul above your own, that is the moment when Gods
presence can be felt most strongly.

Gerald. J. Jampolsky, M.D.
if your inward desire is to ultimately achieve a greater degree of success then consider applying Watsons sage advice;
what youre focusing on and see if you can, through increased activity, Double your rate of failure.
Michael S. Clouse

You can have more than one purpose in life, and you can do them
together or do them sequentially, it doesnt matter, so long as you
are pursuing them and not some other unimportant thing.

Does God Dream?...

Today I am tired, burned out and feel fat!
I'm disappointed; not only in the growth of my Web site but also my own personal growth. I just want to be so much more full of faith, hope and love.

And I have to admit to myself, remind myself that I am in the sometimes painful process of trying to make my dreams come true...
And that means making changes. And change is always scary I suppose.
Yet while reading for a few brief moments this morning, I find I am reminded that dreams are important and that I cannot, will not, ever give up on mine. And I ponder "Does God dream too?"

"Quote of the Day"

<menu>"I think that every mother who wipes away the tears of a child, loves and comforts it, is helping to make God's dream of man come true."</menu>
--Stella Terrill Mann, author of How To Live in the Circle of Prayer

At This Moment

At this moment I see only gray.

The things I want most to do with my time seem to be what I spend the least amount of time doing.

My Web site does not improve because I do not have time to study the action guide or create quality pages.

Working full-time, mothering and housework leave little time for anything else yet I've papers to write and projects to complete.
And time is running out.

I'm so overwhelmed. This day seems so bleak.

But I'm trying to imagine that the day will come soon when the future will look bright and my world will look light not gray.
Today it is hard to think positive.

Taking Time to Dream

It's been crazy...For example, I made it to the FedEx office with three minutes to spare to meet the deadline of sending the edited book to my publisher.
The book that has taken a year and a half of my life's energy.
The book that started my Web site, which led to One Stop Dream Shop, LLC, which led to this weird little blog.
A blog that my husband probably won't ever read.
A blog that will remain on the internet for years to come perhaps but may never be read by one single person.
A blog that sometimes is written with great intentions and sometimes is a rambling stream of consciousness from a woman who sleeps too little, works too much and feels invisible in her own home.
But today's blog can only reflect that, in spite of the heartache of the last four years, good things have happened.
Last night I presented my classroom guidance activity to my classmates of graduate students. I said "let's close our eyes for a moment and dream..." and we did. Then we began making dream collages based on those dreams and even the professor herself made one.
That class finished and I looked over and a man, whom I have respected since the moment I met him, was still making his collage and he said "man, I'm really feeling this." I smiled. He reflected on how his life is so serious most of the time. How this exercise was helping him connect to himself.
He asked if he could take the magazines home and finish it. I smiled and said "oh please do."
The activity may have been my idea but he had no idea how badly I related to him or really needed to do the activity myself.
Or that the last year of my life has been the busiest time and perhaps the loneliest time of my entire adult life.
But none of that mattered to me as I watched him flipping through magazines, carefully cutting and pasting onto his construction paper, engrossed in his activity.
I felt joy as I watched this beautiful, African-American, deeply spiritual man, who gives the majority of his time to the Dallas Independent School District providing a badly needed role model for teenagers in an area I've probably never even visited.
I thought to myself that it was all worth it. Every morning that I woke up at 3 am and couldn't sleep and wrote. Every night that I had to stay up late to meet a deadline, giving up sleep. Every tear that I cried as I felt more and more alone...and more and more tired.
It was all worth it because in a month or so a book will be printed that has an activity in it that guides people to create a dream collage.
And maybe, just maybe there will be another person whose life is way too serious who will be given this book and who will decide to make for him or herself, of all things, a dream collage...

Goal-Setting to Create the Life of Our Dreams

Setting goals is a process that will allow you to determine what you really want to achieve-- in any area of your life. Once you settle on your objectives, you can then work towards meeting your goals.
Setting and attaining goals is a process in which you can discover your passion for living and live the life of your dreams. Areas commonly associated with goal-setting are financial, career-based, health or fitness related and creating personal or professional relationships. What are those things you're always dreaming about doing but never seem to accomplish? These may be achievements like "lose 10 lbs" but you never seem to make it happen. The thought lives on in the back of your mind, you dream about it, may make a few attempts towards attaining the goal but never stick with it long enough to really realize that dream.

For starters, sit down and write ten desires you have that could be considered realistic goals. Rate how motivated you are to reach these goals on a scale of 1 - 10. Choose the goal you find feel the most motivated to reach. Start a new sheet and begin to write about why this goal is desired. This will encourage you to invest more into its achievement. Understanding why the goal is important to you is crucial.

Quote of the Day

<menu>It's been said that people tend to wind up exactly where they belong in life. That's because we live what we know. Without new knowledge, we can't change.</menu>
--David Bach

Law is a Rule of Action; The Law of Attraction?

This blog is actually about prayer-- so I know, strange title for a blog about prayer. Okay...just bear with me while I talk about something strange.

What if every time we say "let there be" in our conversations either with ourselves or others, something happens. What if there is Something in us, around us (energy?), which picks up our thoughts, words or intents?
What if we set into motion with our actions, beliefs, fears, desires, and our spoken "let there be's" the very thing we've declared? No matter if what we said or thought, felt is true or not?
What if, being created in the image of the Creator, we are creators of our own lives? What if when God breathed His Spirit into man and created him in the God-image, the power that said "Let There Be Light", this ability flowed into the created, empowering him or her to be a creator as well?
I said it would be strange...
So it's actually kinda scary. What if "let there be" on any level with a word spoken with purpose, like a statement of fact, creates this in our lives?
What if there is Something within us with unlimited power and unlimited intelligence, a chip off the old block-- a creator?

What did Jesus Christ know that the rest of us have missed? Perhaps there is a law of "scientific asking as Jesus taught it" (Stella Terrill Mann).
What if this power cannot argue with us or warn us if we are making a poor choice or dangerous request? Perhaps this law of attraction is set into place and will obey and bring back as we believe.
The scariest part of this? The accountability. If there is any truth to this then I need to get my desires, my asking and my beliefs in line with each other so that my prayers are answered.
Maybe I don't have the luxury of wallowing in my self-pity or depression today. Maybe today I will choose to walk in love and peace, giving my requests to God and trusting that Power to bring them to pass in the perfect timing.
These thoughts about faith and creative energy make me want to stand up and fight in faith for that which I desire and believe is good. The reality of the law of attraction, the law of the universe, makes me want to stop saying "Let there be crap" (looking at my life I must have thought/said some junk somewhere) and say "Let there be light."

Quote of the Day

<menu>Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, Go jump in the lake-- no shuffling or shilly-shallying--and it's as good as done. That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything.

--Jesus Christ in Mark 11:24-25 (The Message Bible translation)
</menu>

Using Visualization

Visualization is a powerful tool to rewrite the original programming of your subconscious mind. This process opens your conscious mind up to allow new beliefs of success, hope, and contentment into your powerful subconscious mind. Here are some exercises you can do anytime, anywhere: <menu>
Visualize checking your bank balance and finding a large sum of money.

Imagine feeling really successful and recognized in your career.

Picture your life changing quickly, simply, and easily.

If you need a new car, daydream that you are sitting behind the wheel; feel the leather interior and experience the new car smell.

Feel the happiness of a fulfilling relationship.

</menu>Begin with simple activities like these every day before you even get out of bed or as you fall asleep each night. These experiences will help your mind open up to the possibility of expecting what you truly desire.
--from My Dream Book: Journal to Discover Your Destiny by Lisa S. Boyd

Quote of the Day

I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint, and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.
---O Magazine, September 2002 from Laura Moncur's Motivational Quotations
