Gratitude quotes for the empowering freedom of a grateful lifestyle

Take Time to Make a Gratitude List Each Day. Read Gratitude Quotes and other inspiring sayings to promote a freeing, grateful lifestyle.

Some days it may only be that you are alive, in good health or have a roof over your head. Sometimes I find myself wanting to complain but then I remember; some people literally live on the streets. Using quotes of gratitude powerfully pull me out of my pity party.

Fighting self-pity is a biggie and will keep you stuck where you are. If you find you are feeling sorry for yourself in some area of your life, think about some of the basic luxuries you have like a car, a bed or food to eat. There are people who do not.

Find any opportunity you can to be grateful. Become a symbol of gratitude.

When we feel thankful our energy changes and we feel different all of a sudden. It is truly transforming to make thoughts of gratitude your first thought of the day. So make a concerted effort to feel grateful every day of your life for something. If you notice yourself in a down mood thinking negative thoughts about yourself or expecting less than what you deserve, go to our website and read inspirational stories or visit the affirmations page and commit one to memory.

Go to your journal and begin to write declarative faith statements. To support my position on the power of our words and affirmations/confessions I include this from Joel Osteen, author of The Power of Words:

  • Your words have creative power.

  • Your words can build up or tear down.

  • Your words can bring victory or defeat.

  • Your words affect your future.

  • You can speak life and encouragement, or strife and division.

  • When you speak God’s Word over your life, you set into motion the very thing you declare.
  • I think of this in terms of the written word as well as the words that come out of our mouths .The ultimate goal is to change the words we speak over ourselves and our lives on a daily basis. Take control of life instead of letting life control you. Empower yourself using the activities, suggestions and information offered in this book to create the life of your dreams.

    Today, I Am Thankful For…

A common teaching among those people featured in "The Secret" by Byrne, is to make an attitude of gratefulness of major importance in your daily life. Thinking about this led me to thoughts toward the difference between complaining "I wish" statements and hopeful, productive dreaming. True dreaming begins in a space of gratefulness. You see what you already have- the abundance already present in your life, and you feel grateful. Seeing yourself as blessed, you therefore are confident to ask for more blessings and in this process you will become a blessing to others. Being grateful actually builds your faith!

No longer is your daydreaming coming from a victim's mentality but instead, from a believer's mentality that God or the Universe comes from a place of rich abundance and is pleased to bless from that bounty. You know there is no lack, so there is no fear in dreaming. Dreaming then, becomes a faith-filled activity as you imagine the good things you desire easily manifesting in your life blessing you and others richly.

Gratitude is a powerful process for shifting your energy and bringing more of what you want into your life. Be grateful for what you already have, and you will attract more good.- from The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

    I am thankful because...

  • My entire body was formed by Creative Intelligence and was created with the ability to heal itself. This Infinite Healing Presence is within me and possesses the knowledge and the desire to heal me.

  • God is love and I know that God has greater things imagined for me than I have even imagined for myself.

  • My heart is open to dreams and I know that miracles can happen at any moment. As long as I have hope, there is joy in living.

  • No matter how I feel, I know that there is a power in the universe that works with me and wants me to succeed. I can choose love any time I want. And no one can take that away from me.

  • Somewhere in the world, someone loves me and would be there for me if I needed them. Somewhere a memory of me crosses their mind and they smile.

  • I am thankful that today I have the opportunity to bless someone in some way. I can be the person who smiles at someone who desperately needs one.

  • I can say a prayer for someone who has been in an accident. I do something thoughtful for someone I love when they least expect it.

  • I can be the one to encourage someone to believe in themselves. I can be the person who let's someone in front of me who desperately needs to take the next exist.

  • I can make a different in my world- one act of random kindness upon another.

  • I am powerful. I can choose to love instead of fear and no one can take that away from me.

  • Create songs using gratitude lyrics. Hum them in the elevators, walking down the sidewalk or when doing chores like the dishes. Sing and your heart becomes lighter, your face less tense and the stress will begin to melt away as you let go. Be focused on the present moment and sing, if only inside your own head, songs that express "thank you."
