Gratitude quotes for the empowering freedom of a grateful lifestyle
Some days it may only be that you are alive, in good health or have a roof over your head. Sometimes I find myself wanting to complain but then I remember; some people literally live on the streets. Using quotes of gratitude powerfully pull me out of my pity party.
Fighting self-pity is a biggie and will keep you stuck where you are. If you find you are feeling sorry for yourself in some area of your life, think about some of the basic luxuries you have like a car, a bed or food to eat. There are people who do not.
Find any opportunity you can to be grateful. Become a symbol of gratitude.
When we feel thankful our energy changes and we feel different all of a sudden. It is truly transforming to make thoughts of gratitude your first thought of the day. So make a concerted effort to feel grateful every day of your life for something. If you notice yourself in a down mood thinking negative thoughts about yourself or expecting less than what you deserve, go to our website and read inspirational stories or visit the affirmations page and commit one to memory.
Go to your journal and begin to write declarative faith statements. To support my position on the power of our words and affirmations/confessions I include this from Joel Osteen, author of The Power of Words:
I think of this in terms of the written word as well as the words that come out of our mouths .The ultimate goal is to change the words we speak over ourselves and our lives on a daily basis. Take control of life instead of letting life control you. Empower yourself using the activities, suggestions and information offered in this book to create the life of your dreams.
Today, I Am Thankful For…
A common teaching among those people featured in "The Secret" by Byrne, is to make an attitude of gratefulness of major importance in your daily life. Thinking about this led me to thoughts toward the difference between complaining "I wish" statements and hopeful, productive dreaming. True dreaming begins in a space of gratefulness. You see what you already have- the abundance already present in your life, and you feel grateful. Seeing yourself as blessed, you therefore are confident to ask for more blessings and in this process you will become a blessing to others. Being grateful actually builds your faith!
No longer is your daydreaming coming from a victim's mentality but instead, from a believer's mentality that God or the Universe comes from a place of rich abundance and is pleased to bless from that bounty. You know there is no lack, so there is no fear in dreaming. Dreaming then, becomes a faith-filled activity as you imagine the good things you desire easily manifesting in your life blessing you and others richly.
I am thankful because...
Create songs using gratitude lyrics. Hum them in the elevators, walking down the sidewalk or when doing chores like the dishes. Sing and your heart becomes lighter, your face less tense and the stress will begin to melt away as you let go. Be focused on the present moment and sing, if only inside your own head, songs that express "thank you."
